Earthwork Urban Farms Detroit MI
Minimum age 7 years old accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
This an opportunity for the community to give back on a regular basis working on the farm during the warmer months and the soup kitchen when it’s chilly.
BUT WHY is there a ticket price? Because the stats on “no-shows” with free sign-ups is beyond. This is a limited space opportunity and it hurts the reputation of our community if you sign up and don’t show so please communicate to us if you purchase a ticket but can no longer attend. We will find a replacement for you so you don’t have to worry. We will give 100% of the ticket proceeds to the Farm/Soup Kitchen.
Earthworks Urban Farm is a program of the Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Detroit.
Main Requirements & Instructions:
Please wear comfortable clothing and long pants that you don’t mind getting dirty. Closed-toe shoes are required. We also highly recommend that you bring a reusable water bottle with enough water to last for the 2-hour shift, a hat with a brim to keep the sun out of your face and maybe some sun block. We do provide disposable latex gloves, but you may want to consider bringing gardening gloves. We work rain or shine so dressing for the weather is also recommended.
Please be advised that tasks are subject to change due to weather conditions and/or to the rate at which tasks are completed.
This event is subject to cancellation due to unfavorable weather conditions. Registrants will be notified of event cancellation.
